Christmas Parade This Sunday

Christmas SantaIt keeps getting bigger every year, and this year promises to be the biggest year ever.

The Madison Annual Christmas Parade will take place this Sunday, Dec. 13, beginning at 2:00 p.m.

The route for the parade starts at Hughes Rd. and Plaza Dr. and continues through historic downtown Madison.

The theme for this year’s event is “Christmas Around the World”.

Awards will be given in the categories of Spectacular Sparkle, Elfin Magic, Spirit, Director’s Choice, Mayor’s Choice, and Parade Committee’s Choice. Awards will be presented to the winners following the parade at the Roundhouse on Front St.

For a more ‘hometown’ feeling, The Madison Rotary Club will be at the Roundhouse serving hot chocolate and cookies before, during and after the Parade. We invite all to enjoy the festivities and join us as we ring in the holiday season. For more information, contact Gayle Milam at 256.772.9300.

The Madison Christmas Parade participants will line up on Plaza Boulevard, which will be closing to through traffic Dec. 12 at 4 p.m. Only parade traffic will be allowed on Plaza Boulevard during this time.

Beginning at 5:25 p.m. the Madison Police Department will close the following streets as the parade progresses:

  • Hughes Road at Plaza Boulevard
  • Hughes Road to Mill Road
  • Mill Road to Church Street
  • Church Street to Main Street/Sullivan Street
