Jessica Offutt, a standout softball player at Bob Jones High School, signed last week to play for Mississippi State University next year.

She is the first Bob Jones High School softball player to sign an SEC Softball Scholarship.

Present at the signing are her parents, Monte and Kathy Offutt, Bob Jones principal Robbie Parker, Bob Jones head softball coach Kent Chambers and assistant coaches Pat Cavender and Jackie Freelend.

Last season Jessica batted 0.526 (school record), scored 36 runs, had 70 hits and stole 25 bases.

She finished the season with a 23 game hitting streak.
