Plans for Madison Street Festival include many additions
Staff Report, Lifestyle Desk Madison Weekly
The Madison Street Festival continues its growth spurt. Held the first Saturday in October, volunteers have been busy making plans to make this year’s event bigger than before.
In celebration of this year's 30th anniversary, the festival will introduce a new pocket of entertainment which includes a musical performance stage, hands-on nature tent, vendor booths, and more.
This year’s street festival will include a special performance by the Alabama Blues Brothers. Based in Huntsville, the brothers, Jamey and Justin Crisler, impersonate the characters made famous by John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd in the 1980’s movie The Blues Brothers. They will perform a mid-day show at the festival.

Also, the Alabama Nature Center on Tour will make a debut appearance at this year’s event. Hosting hands-on nature activities, in addition to different programs on the top of each hour.
A third performance stage is being added and will showcase some the area's most beloved performers.
An expansion to the Children's Area welcomes both a petting zoo and free pony rides.
Vets with Vettes will be hosting an open Car and Bike Show again this year. Awards and raffle prizes.
For 30 years, the festival has been a free to the public event thanks to volunteers and area businesses who support the event. Sponsorship is a key ingredient if we want to see the festival grow and include new activities and entertainment for our community.
