Star Wars Exhibit
Space and Rocket Center, Huntsville

Enjoy that galaxy far, far away, where science meets imagination, along with original costumes and props from the six movies. The exhibition includes a Jedi Experience camp (for kids and adults) and IMAX and Star Wars related films that focus on the science behind creator George Lucas’ fantasy worlds. Space: A Journey To Our Future
Sci-Quest, 102-D Wynn Drive, Huntsville

Through hands-on interactive displays and modules, visitors can design their own trip to Mars. A 360-degree "Future Theatre" lets visitors look into the future of exploration and deep into space. The exhibit includes artifacts from the past and present space programs including space suits, a lunar rover tire, a camera, early fuel cells and Space Shuttle tiles. Tremendous Treehouses
The Huntsville Botanical Garden

The Huntsville Botanical Garden proudly brings back Tremendous Treehouses as its 2010 Spring/Summer Exhibit. Play, climb and swing your way through fun, interactive hand-crafted tree houses for kids of all ages. Explore a real log cabin in “Knotty Place,” get a feel for the old days at “Trading Post” or swing and slide until your heart’s content at “Relaxation Station.” With over eleven magnificent tree houses in all, you’re sure to find one that captures your imagination. Scarecrow Trail
The Huntsville Botanical Garden

The Scarecrows are arriving daily and they've gone Hollywood! Come see what incredible hay-filled creatures have sprung from the imagination of their creators! From Jack Scare-ow to film producer Martin "Scare"-cese, these famous 'crows are sure to entertain star-gazers of all ages. This year's newest addition to the Scarecrow Trail: Hay Bale Art. Hay rides on Saturdays: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Hay rides on Sundays: 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Art on Main
Downtown Madison
9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Madison Art Council’s Art on Main show and sale will be held Saturday, Sept 4. Local artists will brush, dab and blend their work from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Madison's historic district, adjacent to Main Street Café.

8 September

Madison Newcomers and Neighbors Club
Madison Municipal Complex
10 a.m.

The program for the Wednesday, Sept. 8 Madison Newcomers and Neighbors club will be presented by Pat Brooks, author of Fearless the Lion and Fearless Standing Tall. Her books illustrate real life situations that a child may face, such as fear of the dark and the first day of school. The character lessons prepare a child to receive joy and victory in life. All newcomers and current residents are invited. The meeting begins at 10 a.m. and will be held at the Madison Municipal Complex, 100 Hughes Road, Madison. We will be meeting in the large courtroom.

NARCA Family Fun Fly
Epps Field, Harvest
9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The North Alabama Radio Control Association ( NARCA) will have its Family fun fly day at its airfield ( Epps Field) on Carroll Road in Harvest on Saturday, Sept. 11. This is great day to watch radio control planes fly. The members have glow and electric planes and are willing to teach guest on the aspects of radio control flight. This fun day is open to all members of NARCA and the public from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

AARP Pancake Breakfast
Applebee’s in Madison
7 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The Madison AARP will hold their annual pancake breakfast fundraiser at Applebees in Madison on Saturday, September 11. The breakfast will be held from 7 to 11 a.m. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the event or by calling 256-3916 or 256-325-2219.

13-17 September

Madison Elementary Book Fair
Madison Elementary School will be hosting our Book Fair September 13-September 17. Wednesday, September 15 will be the “Grand Event”. Grandparents (and other family members) are invited to come and shop the bookfair with their student. We are very excited to offer grandparents and students the chance to bond over books!

13 & 19 September

Indoor Family Fun Fly
Madison United Methodist Church
Church Street, Madison

Madison United Methodist Church welcomes pilots and spectators of all ages to its Christian Life Center Aerodrome for indoor small radio-controlled airplane and helicopter flying 6-8 p.m. Monday, September 13 and from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Sunday September 19. If you want to fly, but you don't have a small indoor R/C plane or helicopter, you may fly one of Jim's loaner Vapor airplanes and MCX and MSR helicopters with no cost or obligation.
