UAH professor A Madison resident who was one of the professors shot during a faculty meeting at the University of Alabama in Huntsville last month is being moved to an Atlanta rehabilitation center that specializes in brain injuries.

Joseph Leahy's condition has improved enough that Huntsville Hospital doctors scheduled him to move Wednesday to the Shepherd Center.

He had been in critical condition after the Feb. 12 shooting at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, but has made a slow, steady recovery. He's now listed in good condition.

Another wounded university employee, Steffi Monticciolo, remains hospitalized. Relatives requested that information about her remain private.

Biology professor Amy Bishop is accused of shooting three colleagues to death and wounding three others.
