Madison City Council President Bill Holtzclaw last week qualified with the Alabama Republican Party in Montgomery at the RSA Plaza Terrace, an alternative qualifying site to the State Party's headquarters in Birmingham.
Bill Holtzclaw is running for the seat currently held by Democrat Tom Butler. Senator Butler has been in the Alabama Legislature since 1982 and is expected to seek re-election to the Alabama Senate.
Bill Holtzclaw was elected to the Madison City Council in 2008. He and his wife Pam have two daughters, Sydney and Abby.
