Memorial for slain business owner to be held Saturday in Madison

Family and friends have announced a memorial service for Marc Wenger, a local business owner found shot to death at his home in Harvest last week.

It will be held at the Cornerstone Word of Life Church in Madison on Saturday, July 24, at 2p.m.

A fund for Wenger's three children has also been set up at Redstone Federal Credit Union.

Meanwhile, investigators still have not made an arrest in Wenger's killing.

Investigators say they got a call from someone asking deputies to check on Marc Wenger around six o'clock last Monday morning. Deputies say no one had heard from him all weekend. When they arrived the found the 46-year-old brutally murdered inside his home on Lariat Drive in Harvest.

Wenger was a well-known area businessman. He owned Wenger's Tree Services.
