USMC GySgt Wayne T. Byron, a North Alabama Young Marine's trainer/instructor, attended Discovery Middle School’s Awards Day on Monday.

Byron is shown congratulating 8th grade student, Mitchell Stease, who received the schools' first ever "Run to the Roar" award.

This award was in recognition of his genuine character, constant and honorable kindness and respect, and going above and beyond at DMS.

Stease is one of several North Alabama Young Marines under the direction of Byron at the USMC Reserve Center in South Huntsville.
