The Madison school board approved two new principals on Tuesday.
Dr. Tim Scott was named principal of Madison Elementary. He has served for the past couple of years as assistant principal at the school and was previously a teacher at West Madison Elementary School.
“We are very fortunate to have Dr. Scott in this position,” said Madison Superintendent Dr. Dee Fowler. “He brings a lot of experience and is very familiar with the school and the school district.”
Dr. Scott replaces Teresia Mullen, who retired at the end of the 2009-2010 school year.
At Patriot Academy, James Louis Gordan was named principal on Tuesday.
Gordan had previously been the principal of Bluford Drew Jemison Science Technology Engineering Math Academy in Baltimore, Maryland and Restoration Academy in Aberdeen, Maryland.
“We are very exciting to have him here in Madison,” said Dr. Fowler.
Dr. Wendy Ricci has been the principal at Patriot.
